8th letter from Geel, Belgium -- Week 97 -- One month left!!!!

Today marks one month left in the mission field

Mechelen, Belgium

Hey Folks,

Well, this week has sure had its ups and downs.  The first part of the week was pretty rough because everything that could go wrong did.  Buses that never came, appointments falling through and so on.  It was also freezing cold rain almost every day this week.  Hopefully it will start getting warm again soon! But we sure ended the week on a great note.

We spent lots of time this week looking up the last couple of referrals that we had from the DVD campaign.  They took us clear to the outskirts of Belgium! Some of them are right in the heart of busy cities and others are way out in the middle of the woods.  We went with a member this week in his car to look some of them up.  In 3 hours of driving we were able to look up 4 people! That’s how far away they are.  The member enjoyed getting involved in missionary work and had a great time.  We were able to make a few appointments while with him and we even found a new investigator.

We went to the garage this week to discover that Elder Waters bike was gone.  Someone stole it! Now we are back to walking everywhere.  Luckily I go home in a month, so I told him that he can just have mine when I leave.  But as for now, we gonna be walkin!

On Saturday I got to go back to my very first city Leuven! It was my first time back there in a year and a half.  It was like a walk down memory lane being there seeing all of the buildings and the smell of beer in the air, man I have missed it there.  We went to the baptism of Marco.  Back when I served there we worked a lot with his family trying to help them come back to church.  It was a really cool experience to see him get baptized.  It has been a long road, but well worth it!

We also got in contact with a woman this week named Vanessa.  She had met with the missionaries a long time ago but had lost contact.  She was very happy to see us and welcomed us in.  We had an awesome lesson with her daughter and we took a joint teach with us who was a huge help in the lesson. We are trying to get the members here more involved in our missionary work.  They seem to love it and it really helps us and the investigators out a ton.

Overall it has been an awesome week.  We continue to find new people to teach and we have a couple of solid investigators now.  Have a lovely week!
