Happy New Year Everybody!

Well, the post-Christmas depression has officially set in haha.  I already miss it! Guess I will just have to wait until next year.

To start the week off, last P-day, some members from my first city in Leuven, Belgium came here to visit Elder Clukey and me.  We went and saw some cool sights with them and it was awesome.  They wanted to do something really Dutch, so we took them to get some raw herring.  She kindly bought us some and made us do it as well! Dang that stuff never gets any better.  It was really cool to actually be able to understand them! Haha.  Back when I knew them I hardly spoke any Dutch at all.

We had a busy week with exchanges and splits with other missionaries.  Our workload in our area kind of suffered this week.  All of our investigators were on vacation or busy with family.  They all get back this week but we are still in need of new solid people to teach.  We had a lot of success this week with some less active members and we are still working hard to find new people.

New Year’s Eve here was crazy! Have you guys ever seen “The Purge?” Neither have I, but I have seen the trailers and that is basically what happens here.  One night a year with no rules, all of the Dutch people release all of their anger and stress by blowing stuff up and lighting things on fire! Sadly we had to be inside of our apartments by 4 PM, but at midnight we went up to the 13th story of our apartment building and had an amazing view! It was super cool because millions of dollars of fireworks got shot up into the air.  They also have a tradition where they burn all of their Christmas trees.  They are little dinky Dutch trees, but still.

I hope that you all have an awesome 2016.  It’s gonna be a great year!

Have a great week!
